Three questions with... Kylie Daniels, Operations Manager, Lysander PR

  1. How do you keep operations running smoothly in such a fast-paced PR environment?

In PR, no two days are ever the same, and that’s what makes operations such an interesting challenge. The key is structure and visibility. We use Monday.com to manage every project - from planning media outreach to tracking deadlines and deliverables - so that everyone knows exactly where things stand.

It’s also about communication. We have regular team check-ins to make sure we’re aligned and using our time effectively. When things move quickly, it’s easy for small details to slip, but by having clear workflows and shared ownership, we keep everything on track without losing pace.

  1. What tools or systems make the biggest difference to how the team works?

For us, it’s definitely the combination of Monday.com, Google Cloud and Canva. Together they form the backbone of how we manage work, share information and collaborate. Everything from client documents to creative drafts - both in terms of content and graphic design - lives in one secure place, which makes version control and sign-offs much easier.

It’s also about mindset - tools only work if people use them properly. We make a point of keeping our processes consistent and simple, so everyone knows what “good” looks like. That consistency means we can move quickly without undermining best practices, and we can onboard new team members smoothly because our systems already support how we work.

  1. What’s one operational change you think every marcomms department should make to be more future-proof and agile?

I’d say invest in your processes as much as you invest in your people. Creative ideas might win headlines, but strong operations are what make them happen on time and on budget. We’re focused on building transparency into everything we do, whether that’s real-time dashboards for campaign progress or clear policies for version control and approvals.

It’s about creating a culture where everyone is empowered to work innovatively, accurately, confidently and collaboratively at the pace required of a modern marcomms department. When your systems support your people, you can move fast and stay precise - and that’s where the magic happens in PR.
